Antes de ir (2018 – atual) é um ensaio realizado no condomínio “Vale dos Pinheiros” em Taboão da Serra, na grande São Paulo. O projeto começou com a ideia de retratar a maior parte das pessoas (moradores, trabalhadores, parentes e passantes) e o local - que também é uma “personagem”. Ao longo do tempo meu olhar se voltou mais às crianças, adolescentes e jovens do lugar, por uma questão de afinidade, e por serem aqueles que mais circulam no imenso espaço e os mais dispostos a colaborar. Antes de ir é uma forma de despedida do local que cresci e vivi por 21 anos – e ainda vivo, com algumas intermitências e mudanças – é também um adeus à adolescência, e de refletir sobre o tempo e a transição entre a infância, juventude e a vida adulta.
EN Antes de Ir (2018 – current) is a documentary essay about a housing “Vale dos Pinheiros” in Taboão da Serra, in greater São Paulo. The project started with the idea of portraying most of the people (residents, workers, relatives and bystanders) and the place - which is also a “character”. Over time, my gaze turned more to the children, teenagers and young people of the place, as a matter of affinity, and because they are the ones who circulate the most in the immense space and the most willing to collaborate. It's a way of saying goodbye to the place I grew up and lived in for 21 years - and still alive, with some intermittence and changes - it's also a farewell to adolescence, and a way reflect on the time and transition between childhood, youth and adult life.
